Looking to start first grow please help!

Me and a couple mates are looking to start growing. Really don’t know what we are doing seed and equipment wise. Should we grow indoors or outdoors first? Where should we get seed from? What strain should we grow first? If someone could give me a little run down on how to do our first grow that would be great. I’ll definitely be on YouTube watching tutorials but would like someone to explain it just to help get my head around things. Thanks!
