ABN and taxable write offs

Hello!

As a bit of background I work an 80k government job, and make games on the side which I sell online. This makes me on a few hundred annually, so not much at all. I am midway through a larger project which I have put money into and believe will make much more money (fingers crossed).

I need to buy a mac to export the game to Macs and IOS devices. My question is firstly can I apply for an ABN and make my online studio a legit business, and second does that mean I can then claim a new mac and development costs on tax?
