Making the jump from perm to contractor
Post Body

I’ve always been a permanent employee for the 25ish years I’ve worked (in IT) but I’ve just been offered a role that would mean switching to a contractor. I know the obvious stuff like no paid holidays or sick leave and in return the hourly rate is higher but what are the other pros and cons? I imagine you need insurance and there would be additional overheads in setting up and managing whatever structure is required or do you just go through an agency or something?
