I’ve recently inherited a reasonable portfolio from my mum and while my original thought was to just hang onto it for sentimental reasons I’m starting to move past that. Looking at the makeup of the portfolio it’s heavy on banks and in particular very heavy on cba. Prior to this my partner and I had started investing into a handful of vanguard etfs as we didn’t fancy our luck at stock picking and overall we’re happy with how those have been performing. So if I wanted to sell down some of the cba shares what are some ideas for alternatives? Probably more focussed on yield rather than growth at this point but a balance would not be a bad alternative. I also looked at the vanguard high yield etf VHY but those yields aren’t spectacular either so not sure that’s the best option and it also owns a lot of banks so doesn’t overly help with the diversification goal.
