Survival in line. New sol has humble beginnings in lane. You can’t 1v1 anyone without stacks. If you’re countered or camped your power spike will be delayed. If you feed not only do u delay your power spike, you will be giving away a lot gold, which can be used to cuz havoc in other lanes.
New Asol requires self control. It’s hard watching your lane opponent roam and knowing the best thing you can do is ping Mia and farm.
You have to depend on your team to hold firm during early game. If Top and bot feed hard you won’t make it to late game. So warding and pinging Mia’s is a must.
A Strong mental, so many players think we can just get penta kills 5mins in the game. They might flame, your lane opponent might talk shit. You cant be the player who ff’s at 15 because you can turn the tide of battle with stacks and time.
Utilizing w properly is huge! I was an old Asol main so I was use to flying into battle. I did this with new Asol and found myself stationary during the fight which meant the enemy would get away or I’d die. Also W resets with kills, so it’s actually one of our most powerful weapons.
Knowing when and when not to fly is huge. Things to consider does the enemy have a lot cc? Can I get the reset on my W from the kill? Where em I going to land? Do they know how to side step my flight path?
Our ult has a lot of skill expression. It’s a tool for both offense and defense. Early game its our best peel in lane. Late game u can use it to start a team fight, follow up on cc. You can also use it to pick off fleeing opponents. It’s about using it the right way.
Without w our main source of farming and damage leaves us exposed to counter attacks because we can’t move.
The only way for us to stack is by using E it’s supper telegraphed so your laner can disrupt your stacking delaying your power spike. Wave control is a must.
Sol’s kit easy to understand hard to master and I think that’s league modern champ design style. New Asol has a lot of skill expression I suspect the Old sol mains who are saying otherwise just can’t adapt.
