I'm splitting up with my wife due to her being abusive, and it's likely I'll have custody. We've had 2 au pairs in the past, and I am positive they'd provide good references (I keep in touch with them).
AP bedroom is secure, private, and distant from the other bedrooms. It's a pretty big suite actually, private bathroom, etc. I'd get another car.
As a practical matter I'd probably only need help with after-school stuff, driving around to activities, maybe 3-4 hours a day, then more hours during school breaks.
Does anyone have recommendations on how to "market" myself and my family to prospective au pairs? I hate that there's this perception of single men being dangerous/creepy or something but I have to deal with the reality of it.
I'm certainly open to a male au pair ("bro pair"), fwiw, but there aren't many of those around and I'd want to appeal to as many as possible.
