I'm in the post-production stage of a low budget short film I shot a while back, and will be recording foley for it in two weeks. Although I don't have access to a foley stage, I will be recording in a sound booth, and I have some ideas for how to get surfaces for the footsteps that should at least sound okay.
But the one thing I can't figure out is how to get footsteps on asphalt. It seems like the kind of thing that can't be easily faked without having an actual pit with actual asphalt to walk on. It's particularly a problem for me because this is the first shot of the film, and the footsteps are the focus of the shot, so they need to sound good!
Does anyone have suggestions for how to foley footsteps on asphalt with a low budget?
