I have a scene of a single character dancing, and have foleyed all of the footsteps, clothing, and environmental sounds. Now I need to foley the character's breath.
I've never done this before and I know that breathing is one of the trickiest things to record. Any tips?
For starters: given that my actor is female, do I need the person doing the breathing to be female as well? Do they need to be a similar size or body type, or have a similar voice pitch? How much are these things noticeable or identifiable when there's no spoken words, only breath?
EDIT TO ADD: I'm not able to have an ADR session with this actor, hence needing to have another performer foley the breath.
