Part 1

Summary: As the days go by, you get more and more suspicious about Caleb's late night shifts. A couple of lies here and there and you quickly pick up that there is definitely something wrong with this guy.

Setting: Empty road transformed into a race track. Loud stereo music blasting from cars and engines revving in the background.

Toby, any news from the guys that lost the previous round?

(Pause)

Damn, those dumbfucks don't realise they're messing with the Accardis, do they? Leo has been looking for them like a tiger for a prey.

(Pause)

[Haughty] For me? Why would he look for me, I'm right here.

(Pause)

A spy? -the fuck are you talking about? [Snarky] I've told you so many times not to get high before the race Toby...

(Pause)

(Pause)

Oh... Oh no no. [Whispering] what the hell is she doing here?

(Pause)

Good. Go check up on the car. I'll be back in few minutes.

[Footsteps start]

[He sneaks up from behind the listener and brings his mouth close to her ear]

[Footsteps stop]

[Whispers] What's up Foxy...

[Listener gets scared and shouts in fright but the speaker shuts her up just in time by covering her mouth with his hand and backs her up against a tree]

[Murmurs] Stop yelling you idiot, you're gonna get me in trouble. What the fuck are you doing here? How did you know I was here? Did you follow me?

(Pause)

Don't just stare at me. Use your words foxy, did you follow me or not?

(Pause)

[Angry] I knew you were one of those people who just love to poke their nose in someone else's business. Can't you just leave me alone? Why do you just have to know what I do at midnight when I'm out? I'll work, I'll party, I'll fight, I'll fuck, I'll do whatever I want, what do you have to do with any of that?

(Pause)

This is a mafia territory. People keep their eyes on everything and everyone and once they see an opportunity, they pounce. You don't wanna get in the middle of this, trust me.

I'm a racing driver. I race in illegal street races organised by mafia gangs. I think that pretty much explains why you shouldn't be here right now.

(Pause)

This is risky! What if I lose?

(Pause)

[Sighs] Fine. I mean I could use you. You're smart, observant, quick at thinking. I guess it would be nice to have someone as my third eye.

Come with me. We need to get ready for the race.

[Footsteps]

[You both approach the race track where people are cheering and sound all worked up for the race]

Toby, make sure to dodge questions about her. She can't be exposed and she is definitely not a casualty.

(Pause)

[Sighs] I'll explain later. Just take care of this. I don't want her to catch Leo's attention. Maybe tell Scar to give them a show. She always manages to get them all riled up.

(Pause)

Not even today? But she never misses the final races.

(Pause)

I guess she'll come around then. I need to go take my position.

(Pause)

[Footsteps]

[Car door opens and closes]

So? You ready? Did you recognise the guy?

(Pause)

Okay then. Fasten your seatbelt Foxy. This is gonna be one hell of a ride.

[Engines rev SFX]

[The organiser waves the flag down and the cars launch forward]

[Crowd cheers SFX]

We have to take a whole spin around the mountain and if we appear from the other side, it means we win. You see any of them acting up?

[A car speeding alongside yours swerves towards you]

Nice. Dodged that one. These lowlife fuckers have rusted skills.

(Pause)

Another one? How far is he?

[Another car speeds up toward you and tries to force your car off the road]

Okay Foxy, brace yourself. This is going to be rough.

[Tires screeching SFX]

Not gonna let you win this one asshole.

We're close to the finish line. If they're not close enough we can definitely win this.

(Pause)

Another one? The road is getting narrow. I don't think I can dodge here.

(Pause)

What? It won't fit there. That's a small alley!

(Pause)

Trust you? Okay then. Here we go.

[Car spins SFX]

Woah! It did fit! How did you know about this shortcut?

(Pause)

Well you're definitely something. We're back on the road! Do you see anyone behind us?

(Pause)

Oh wait, I see the lights. We're here!

[Car comes to a stop as you cross the finish line]

[Crowd cheers SFX]

We did it. We won. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun.

(Pause)

Come on. Let's get out and show them the winners.

[Car door opens and closes SFX]

[People cheer loudly as you walk towards the bleachers]

Hey man! Thanks. I appreciate it.

(Pause)

Yeah bro no shit. We're partying soon.

(Pause)

The girl? Yeah don't worry about her. I need to talk to one of Leo's men. That fucker racing against me tried to sabotage the race.

(Pause)

You sure? I can talk to him.

(Pause)

[Footsteps start]

[Footsteps stop]

My car? Yeah I didn't buy it. I won it in a race. The Accardis had it stolen from a rich bastard and then displayed it as a prize for the final race of 2019. It caught my eye and I got it.

No you don't get it. This is the kind of shit where you don't get to get out once you get in. And I have no plans of getting out either. I'm happy here and I ain't leaving anytime soon.
