Post Body

This is an audio that's well past-due. I've been wanting to make something like this for a while, because it's an incredibly important subject and sadly underrepresented in audios. Being cis-male, I've never experienced gender dysphoria and can't fully comprehend what it's like, but I wanted to try and make an audio to provide some comfort and reassurance to people who are experiencing it. This audio is intended for transmen, though I'd very much like to do one for transwomen in the future too. I've done some research on the subject, watching videos and reading posts from transmen about what kinds of things people can do to help someone suffering dysphoria. I've also run the initial script by a transman who provided some feedback and guidance to make the audio more helpful (shout out to /u/twinkwithoutadick). My hope is that this audio will help you to feel better about yourself and your gender identity, that you'll feel the support, love and comfort from a friend whenever you need it. Having said that, I'm aware that not everyone experiences dysphoria the same way, and that what's helpful for one person may not be for another. Additionally, whilst my intentions are good, I'm still naive and ignorant on many subjects and can't ever fully understand what it's like to be trans or experience dysphoria, so whilst I've done my best to make a helpful audio, it will almost certainly be a flawed one. I'd very much appreciate any feedback you can give on how to better serve trans audiences and to help alleviate dysphoria for people.

With all that in mind, if you're unsure about this audio, feel free to read the script beforehand so you can determine whether it might be right for you.

In this audio, I'm your friend, to whom you've previously come out. I saw you were feeling dysphoric (probably on social media) and came over to try and help. I'm sympathetic and supportive, acknowledging that I don't know what it's like, but that I still want to try and help you feel better. I ask if you want to talk about it (it's assumed that you don't want to) and say that it's okay not to, we can just hang out. I want to tell you something, though. I tell you that I know who you are. You're my friend, a good person, and more than that, you're a guy. Since you came out to me, everything just clicked and I saw you as a man. It suited you far better. I noticed the small changes, the difference in your clothes, your movements, your speech. Masculine pronouns seemed to fit you way more naturally than your old ones.

I'm grateful to you for coming out to me, for trusting me and feeling comfortable with me, and I reassure you that despite your changing identity, you're still the same person I've always known. You're still my friend. That hasn't changed at all. You're still a dork and we still make dumb jokes. The audio finishes with us going out to get some food, because I'm starving. Don't worry, I'm buying.

You can listen to the audio on soundgasm or on Youtube

If you appreciated this audio, please let me know! I'd also really appreciate feedback for making audios to help trans people, as it is a sadly underrepresented group and can be rather intimidating to make audios for them.

If you'd like to hear more of my audios, you can find them organised at my subreddit /r/msa_andeh
