Hey everybody! I’m coming from being a BMW fanboy and would love to dip into an S4 as a daily. Only thing is, this price seems too good to be true. Here’s the story: 2013 B8.5 with a moderate front end accident and decent carfax history until the very end (see in attachments). I called the last dealer where the transmission was checked and verified that the vehicle was shaking and transmission light was on(owner declined to fix). It was since sent to auction and sold to another owner (I’m not sure if it was fixed or not). Before I got to see the car, the salesman pulled it up and said the check engine light is on and the car is shaking so he’s sending it right to service to get checked out. I decided to look over the car in the meantime and WOW, the interior is IMMACULATE! Exterior was OK and needs new tires. As I come back home, sales manager calls me and we have a great conversation for 30 min about the car and says he knew the previous owner and he was an Audi mechanic himself so he may have fixed the transmission issue himself. As per the check engine light, they said it went away when they pulled it into the bay and shaking stopped.
They are more than willing to let me bring the S4 to my mechanic for an inspection and give me an extensive test drive since I never got to drive it.
My question to you all is: do you think it’s worth it to get it checked out by my euro mechanic? And if so, does the history depict the price correctly?
ALSO; correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t this supposed to have the flat bottom steering wheel? Sort of raised a red flag for me that the airbag was deployed so the previous owner just bought a used b8 steering wheel airbag; yet dealer claims only the bumper and hood were replaced since no airbags deployed...
Thank you in advance!
