Hi! Apologies in advance if formatting is weird - I’m on mobile. I recently found this sub and honestly I’ve never felt like I fit in anywhere so well in my life. My experience doesn’t feel as severe as some of the stories I’ve read on here, but I identify with so many aspects. I’ve compensated with subtitles and just dropped out of conversations or read textbooks through college when I couldn’t follow along in lectures, but the pandemic and mask wearing has made me realize that not everyone has this same set of problems. I went to my primary doctor who referred me to an ENT and a speech language therapist. I saw the ENT today and they’re sending me to get an open MRI of my brain to look at the language areas next week and an audiologist when I can get an appointment. I guess I’m wondering has anyone gotten an MRI for diagnosis? Has this been helpful, was it a bad experience? For reference I’m 24 years old, and just the thought of the MRI has me a little shaken up. Thank you in advance for any advice or shared stories!
