So I have a 2011 Audi A4 2.0 tdi CVT automatic on 137k miles. It's my first CVT gearbox I've ever had and it took a while to get used to it. After owning nearly a year I'm finding it alright to drive.
However there are still few issues I'm not too sure about. First of all, the reverse feels like it almost half slips if you give it too much gas from standstill, not sure if this is normal cvt behaviour? Whenever moving at idling speed up or down a hill there is a very slight juddering and very slight boucing of the revs, I mean very small but noticable. Little bit on the gas or brakes sorts it out straight away. Lastly, in colder weather from cold start up the box is slightly more hesitant setting off, I would presume this is maybe due to it needing a service.
Now I know on regular auto boxes, if there are issues with them, sometimes they can be beyond servicing and a service can completely ruin the boxes altogether. Is this the same with CVTs? Has anyone else encountered these issues? Is it safe to service the box or at this point shall I just leave it and drive it into the ground as it is?
