Hi.
I have a 2016 TTS, with 56k miles.
I've noticed on occasion I'll get a wiff of that sickly sweet maple syrup smell from coolant. It only seems to happen when I'm walking around front of the car, or in a drive-thru waiting, and doesn't always happen. On occasion it's persisted, but usually the smell vanishes after a few moments.
On the coolant resivior, checked both hot/hot and cold/cold, it's lost maybe like 4mm from 4 months ago. Cold it sits smack in the middle of the "minimum" zone and hot it's now a tiny bit below the upper line.
I know these cars need water pumps often. What amount of loss is considered acceptable before I should bring it in? It's a few hundred miles out of the limited warranty period from the dealer I got it from.
Thanks!
