To provide context, I was driving my friends new used car he had just gotten approximately 1 week before the incident. A state trooper pulled me and my friend over, and stated the reason was "He ran my plates and they came up to a different car." Said car was my friends old car as he was told by the DMV when he registered the new one to just move over the plates. My friend thoroughly explained what the situation was, and the officer went back to his car. When he returned he said "Your insurance says it has been active for over a month on this car therefore I can't prove you have only had it for a week" and proceeded to give me the ticket and court date as I was driving. My friend is gathering all the documents from the sale of the vehicle to provide me, and we have plenty of proof of the date the transaction took place. Can I get this ticket dismissed without going to court? Or will I actually have to present everything in court? If so I really do not have the means to pay for an attorney for something this stupid. Any advice? The state is Arkansas
