Wondering where to sell a piece of "high-end" furniture.
Post Body

A few years back, I inherited through my job (office moved/downsized and later closed, they let me have it) a piece of high-end furniture – an Eero Aarnio Ball Chair, one of these. Converting over, it's about $8,000 new. There are a lot of imitators of this chair – I don't have the certificate of authenticity, but I took some pics and sent them to the manufacturer, Adelta, in Germany, and they confirmed over email that it is indeed the real deal.

I kind of like it as an unusual thing, and for reading/gaming/whatever, but the wife has always hated it.

Cue a few years later, we're looking at buying our first house, and all the costs associated with that make it look attractive to consider trying to sell it. However, I don't know a thing about high-end furniture.

Any input here? Good place in town? Good website, maybe? People have suggested trying to sell to staging companies, or ad agencies, photo studios, etc... It seems like consignment shops and the like take a pretty big cut, and I see a lot of bad reviews from sellers for Chairish, the only site I've really found for selling this sort of furniture.

The chair itself is currently in storage, but we've always been careful with it, it's in pretty great shape, few (if any – have to doublecheck once we get it out of storage) blemishes.

Any rich redditors with a taste for spheres? :)
