Hello! We've been looking for a way to let one of our cats outside, but still be safe. I looked at professionally built outdoor cat enclosures, and the prices range from $1500-$5000! I've seen DIY "cat-ios" for decks and porches consisting of some wood stabilizers and chicken wire.
I think this could be easily achieved on my back deck. The length x width measurements are roughly 14'x13' and it's 5' from the roof overhang to the top of the deck wall. The stairs down to the backyard is an open entrance, so we'd also need to think about some sort of simple screen door or swinging gate.
There's also a tree growing out of our deck in the back corner, so that would be a perfect anchor to one of the corners of the enclosure.
Looking to talk quotes from a builder/handyman for this, or a rough estimate of what the matierials would cost me if I did it myself (I'm NOT handy at all). Thanks guys!
