I get lower/mid back pain at night after doing face pulls.

I've done face pulls twice now, and both times I haven't been able to go back to sleep when I wake up in the night, because of lower/mid back pain. So both times I've gotten like 3 hours sleep.
I thought I was doing them ok- using light weight, making sure I was leading with my wrists and doing 10-15 reps for 3 sets.
I haven't had this before from any other exercise. Does anyone know what could be wrong?
