I feel like all of these conservative/republican politicians and people alike, are focusing on the wrong thing. They’re using her death for their own agenda and just being xenophobic and racist. The real focus should be the fact that there’s a femicide going on in North America and that more and more women are becoming victims of violent crimes. We should be focusing on how to up the safety of women on campus and in general, not on immigration. I feel like I’m the only who sees that. Women should be able to run by themselves and not have a fear of being murdered or assaulted.
Why can’t we fix both?

I think it has to do with both. Had the laws on the books been enforced, the murderer would have been detained. Yes we should focus on protecting women, but we shouldn’t ignore the major immigration problem our country has.
