Microsoft Save Files Deleted After I Moved Them (?)

Post Body

I attempted to move a folder that had upper case letters and numbers onto my desktop so i could put the contents of it on a dedicated server. I opened astroneer without the folder in it to check that I was moving the right file and no save files were showing in the game, so I closed the game, moved the folder back into where it was supposed to be and the save files were still missing. I looked inside the folder i had just moved back in and it only had one file in it: "container.<number>" but nothing else.

Did i really just wipe all of my save files by moving it into the desktop?

Edit:

I tried to recreate what happened by making a new save a repeating what i did, and it turns out that the folders in question will rewrite themselves when the game loads or saves data, and once the folder was moved out and then back in, the files were still there until the game loaded up, then contents literally just disappear, the only thing that's left is the container.<number> file...

However, the folders DON'T rewrite themselves if you've never moved them out and back in, in the first place.

What's weird is, ive looked thoroughly into where the fuck the save files are for the Microsoft version, and im not a stranger to this type of stuff, and everything says that it's those files, but why would these files update at runtime? It's odd
