A few questions about the astronaut selection process and requirements.
Post Body

My first question is about vision. It says that your vision has to be correctable to 20/20 vision, does laser eye surgery count?

My second question is about how to increase hand-eye coordination. I heard somewhere that hand-eye coordination is tested. Are there any solo sports I can do to help with this?

My third question is about a scuba certificate. Would a scuba certificate put me higher in the standings?

My last questions are about extracurricular activities. Do they ask about extracurricular activities during the interview (if so, what activities would be good)?

Sorry that I packed so many questions in one post, I just thought it was a bit better than making a bunch of posts.

Thanks.

Edit: I have one more question. Is there any way that I can get 1000 hrs experience commanding a jet aircraft without having to go into the military?

The SCUBA certification would be great for your CV! But you should consider doing several dives after your certification. For the extracurricular activities you should consider doing what you like, don't force into doing stuff your're not comfortable doing or stuff you just don't enjoy doing. But activities like a welding certification, skydiving, sports, music, etc. There is a lot of things you can do!

I hope I helped! :)
