I have managed to obtain a translation for a few pages of the book I posted earlier in this subreddit. One entry titled "The return from the subtle world to the portly world" is one that I find particularly interesting. The following is a rough translation of the text:

"Return from the subtle world to the portly world:- As mentioned before, death is only the departure of the portly body or is the departure from the portly world to the subtle world (located in space), which is the third category of creation, according to the fifteenth mantra of the fifth chapter of Yajurwed. Thanks to his desire, a Living subtle body is born in the portly world after living in one of the six worlds of the subtle world. As death and life are a recycle of birth, it is appropriate to mention the return in brief in order to complete the recycle. According to all of our scriptures, especially Upanishad, the portly body comes back the way through which it reaches up in the sphere of the moon. The beginning and the end of the recycle can’t be decided; rather the end will be called the beginning. It does not seem logical that the departure of the portly body is just an end because the knowledge of subtle body and consciousness remains the same and the creature regards himself the same as it was in the portly body when living. But when he is dropped down from the sphere of the moon, he knows nothing about the portly and subtle body and dresses up a new portly and subtle body in the result of his earlier desires. Therefore the time he is dropped down from the sphere of the moon, should be called the end which seems logical here. Wise should ponder over this subject. Upanishad lays down that animate is dropped down when good deeds end after fruitful life in the sphere of the moon. Then he is blended with any fruit or grain of the earth, or mixed with water and air. And during drinking of water, due to viand or through breath, it enters into the body and is mixed with sperm that comes into the pregnancy of the animate mother after mixing into woman’s ridge."

What exactly is a portly body? Is this just another word for the astral body?
