I previously owned a 2014 V8 Vantage, and a 996 Model Porsche 911. I am looking to buy a new (to me) sports car, but not sure which route to go. I am deciding between a 2020-2021 V8 Vantage, a 2015 V12 Vantage, and a 911 Carrera S or Turbo.
I loved my 2014 V8 Vantage, and every time I drove the car, it felt like a fun event. The car was beautiful, and I loved the fancy interior. Electronics were dated, but I didn’t care. The downside was that the car frequently was in the shop for random repairs that don’t break the bank, but can get costly.
I also owned a 2003 911 Carrera, and it was really fun to drive, speed and agility were top class, and I felt like I was driving a rocket ship. The repairs were minimal during the time I owned the car. But sadly, it doesn’t have the same excitement as the Vantage did. Where I live, you see 911’s all the time. Not too many Aston’s.
For the new car, not sure which route to go. I’m not sold on the new body style of the Vantage, but I like that it is apparently more reliable, and simply that it’s the newer version.
The V12 Vantage is older, but it looks classic beautiful. The sound if the V12 is off the charts, but afraid of getting even worse repair bills than my old vantage. Then there is the 911, which is a great car, but doesn’t feel as special as the Aston.
Looking for advice from those who have owned these cars as well.
Budget around $75k-$100k.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
