Throat pain with preventative steroid inhalers
Post Body

I recently had a series of sinus/upper respiratory infections which have done such a number on my throat that I've developed dry coughing fits. Two separate physicians have tried to treat part of the problem with inhaled steroids (Trelegy and now Qvar).

I ended up taking myself off the Trelegy after about 30 days due to significant throat pain (which went away within 36 hours of stopping the Trelegy). They put me on Qvar, but several days later and the throat pain is back. The doctor seemed surprised that I was having such a reaction, but now that the Qvar has caused it recur I have little doubt that it's the steroids.

The pain is unlike any throat pain I've ever experienced before, and it's significant enough for me to prefer coughing fits.

Has anyone had a similar experience on these inhalers? Am I using them wrong?
