Hi all,
Wanted to ask for some opinions and advice. Im 28, male, and relatively unfit but not particularly overweight. I currently treat my asthma with a single dose of budesonide (200) morning and evening.
This evening, I jogged a very short distance in the rain (literally about 30 metres), and then jogged 5 metres back to my dog (who weighs 35kg), and then picked him up and walked him to the car (another 5 metres). So roughly 40m in total.
Whilst then in the car, my chest felt noticeably tighter and my mouth inhale was definitely more audible and wheezy. I then needed to take my blue because I just felt uncomfortable... is it really normal that this low level of exertion can trigger your asthma? On top of this, on a daily basis if I'm not exercising, I almost never need my blue.
I really want to get fitter, but the thought of running without my inhaler is really scary, and the asthma nurse seems to think that the new treatment plans specify that an asthmatic should be able to run without their reliever if they are controlled...
Would appreciate any and all advice. Can this amount of exercise trigger you?
