My friends found an adorable kitten, Shabbo, and took her in. However they soon found that she has a birth defect, eyelid agenesis, where she never grew eyelids. This means her eyes are unprotected, and the hair around her eyes causes irritation and infections and she will eventually lose her sight entirely in a very painful process. The vet recommends that if she can't get the surgery, the most humane option would be to put her to sleep.

They are raising money at gofundme to help pay for her $2000 surgery. The surgery can make her new eyelid tissue and should save her eyes!
