Preventing eviction
Post Body

Hi all, I made a request here a few months ago and some lovely people bought stuff from my Amazon wish list to help us eat for a few days, for which were still grateful. I am making a new request as a last ditch effort to try and avoid eviction if at all possible. My husband is a paramedic, unfortunately he began having seizures and is now no longer legally allowed to work as a paramedic for a few more months. Unfortunately we haven't been able to completely get back on our feet. We have looked for rental assistance, unfortunately in our area the only assistance is for those who have HIV or those who have a kid dying of cancer. Appliations to disability and ssi are still pending. Jobs are started, but because we're so behind, we don't have enough to pay our rent. We made an agreement with the landlord to do $500 a week every Friday, unfortunately we werr able to get some side work and labor done but in the end we were unable to make that total on the 31st when that was due. I know financial assistance doesn't do as well on this sub reddit, but I figured I would try. Today and tomorrow are our last days before eviction. We wanted to try. The road here was hard and we dont want to give up. Lastly we have a pup and cat. 9 months (dog) and 11 years (cat). If anyone knows of a temp foster, please let us know. We dont want to surrender our babies. Thank you in advance for any and all help possible. Thank you.

Edit to add that we are in Louisiana and are requesting $400. Thank you 🙏
