Especially after I decide to get the Death Veil ability and there aren't bodies laying around anymore.

It must be eerie to walk around a giant fortress that you're supposed to be guarding with like 30 other guys and there's...nobody. Walking patrol on the wall and nobody is at their posts, no other torches lit throughout the fortress, every single chest or piece of valuables is gone. But nope, just keep walking around and acting like everything is normal. Makes me laugh every time I think about it!

I clear forts a lot when I'm bored or just need a buffer between quests. It's amusing to me how the soldiers don't seem to notice you slowly emptying the place.
