What are some tangible side effect of Boosting/Carries in an MMO?

Post Body

I recently watched the 100k from boosting video and the question has been on my mind.

I understand why RMT and botting is bad, it tanks the in game economy and fucks with pricing. But for Boosting and Carries I'm not too sure what are the notable downsides.

Lost Ark had a 'busing' service for harder bosses in the dailies? Ff14 allows "buyers" to advertise "help wanted" with awards attached, but doesn't allow sellers to advertise services offered. Wow seems to be pretty open for anything? (Correct me if im wrong)

I cant realy figure out any legitimate downsides, other than losing the "sense of achievement" from legit prog and kill. Even if it encourages RMT, if a new game was able to completely eliminate botting and RMT, then boosting itself wont inherently cause any problems for economy.

Appreciate any input to the topic. Im a mostly variety gamer that occasionally dabble in MMOs.
