Do conservatives sometimes genuinely want to know why liberals feel the way they do about politics?

This is a question for conservatives: Iā€™ve seen many people on the left, thinkers but also regular people who are in liberal circles, genuinely wondering what makes conservatives tick. After Trumpā€™s elections (both of them) I would see plenty of articles and opinion pieces in left leaning media asking why, reaching out to Trump voters and other conservatives and asking to explain why they voted a certain way, without judgement. Also friends asking friends. Some of these discussions are in bad faith but many are also in good faith, genuinely asking and trying to understand what motivates the other side and perhaps what liberals are getting so wrong about conservatives.

Do conservatives ever see each other doing good-faith genuine questioning of liberalsā€™ motivations, reaching out and asking them why they vote differently and why they donā€™t agree with certain ā€œcommon senseā€ conservative policies, without judgement? Unfortunately when I see conservatives discussing liberals on the few forums I visit, itā€™s often to say how stupid liberals are and how they make no sense. If you have examples of right-wing media doing a sort of ā€œchecking ourselvesā€ article, right-wingers reaching out and asking questions (e.g. prominent right wing voices trying to genuinely explain left wing views in a non strawman way), Iā€™d love to hear what those are.

Note: I do not wish to hear a stream of left-leaning people saying this never happens, thatā€™s not the goal so please donā€™t reply with that. If youā€™re right leaning I would like to hear your view either way.

This is very faulty logic

If you live in North Korea and admit you think Kim Jong Un is a bad leader then you could the worst kind of social repercussions. I guess that means Kim Jong Un is right then since people wonā€™t speak out against him?

Just because youā€™re conservative doesnā€™t mean you support Trump. Iā€™m liberal but have conservative family members who despise Trump and did not want him in the White House
