We found the cattle that were set loose during the storm. It wasn't hard, we just followed the screaming. The zombies that we saw walking into the water on the other side of the strait had come ashore and killed, no, slaughtered, all the cattle.

I'm coordinating the evacuation, screw what that optimistic liar we call our leader says, it's too dangerous to stay on the island any more.

Two thirds of our community, primarily the children and elderly, are going on the Rotoiti, along with a small number of armed guards. Two of the pilots will fly ahead as scouts in the microlights, acting as our eyes and looking for safe places to dock.

The remaining third, about 30 of us, will escort the Rotoiti in the yachts. Once we reach the mainland, we'll split up. 10 of us will carry on by foot, the rest will rejoin the flotilla.

Supplies are being loaded now, we leave in 24 hours. With or without the leader. Our isolation is over, we're abandoning our home, the last New Zealand stronghold.
