Question on Communication with girls

I have a few female friend both current and past where we are friends with benefits and play with each other a lot and get along very well.
My question is why does it seems like I am always the one that initiates the communication? It seems like I alway have to be the first one to open up the chat and things will go on from there. It’s not like they Dont like me or want to see me because generally after chat we end up playing and they would ask when I’m next available but they never seem to initiate it. Why is that?
