I wouldn't think we'd need this reminder, just to refresh everyone's memory, an ad homimem attack is when, instead of attacking/debating someone's point or argument, you attack them instead. This could be as plain as a "Well, you're stupid" to attacking other parts of them as well, whether it be ideology, grammar or even writing style (that one shocked me). Please keep any discussions focused on the points at hand. Anything that deviates from this will be removed. And as a reminder, please review our guidelines.

I also want to take a moment and thank our subscribers for helping out with the moderation. I've noticed a lot more reports coming through and it makes it easier for us to keep moving /r/ask_politics in the direction we all want it to go. Please continue to report anything you feel is in violation of our guidelines. Downvotes are also useful, but remember that you downvote for a bad argument/point.
