Is sex a super taboo thing in your household?

I'm always surprised and, honestly, a bit sad, when I hear that some households are soooo awkward and close-minded about sex, making it like this super taboo thing that's best left ignored.
It has so many negative impacts that I can't understand why some would act that way but I'm curious about everyone's experiences.
