Who here has taught themselves programming languages and now work as engineers/devs?
Post Body

I’m currently taking the free Harvard CS50 class and am so happy! Back in my early 20’s I would have never imagined I would be so fascinated with blockchain and computer science.

Has anyone here taught themselves to code and subsequently became engineers/developers? What was that journey like? Are you happy with your work and compensation? Do you find there are significant differences between you and your college educated colleagues?

Thanks in advance for entertaining my curiosity!

Edit: thank you all for replying! It’s great to talk to other women about tech, programming, and all the nerdy things. I’m still not really sure what the end goal is with my CS courses, but freelance/part time gigs sound like a good way to make some vacation money on the side!
