Does Father’s day get easier, as you age, when you have an emotionally absent dad?

I live the other 364 days a year not caring that my dad is a less than stellar person. But for some reason, today is still hard for me. I guess I haven’t truly lost the hope that he might magically morph into a person worth the time and effort of a relationship.
