I've reached a point in my life where biologically I need to start thinking about having children, if I want them that is.
However I've realised that I will have to make significant life changes and probably not do a lot of things that I want to do, career advancement, travel etc . How did you decide to give up on having children and choose your career? Or did you choose the family route? Both?
I personally can't see a way to have both with my current lifestyle.
I didn’t have to choose. When my oldest was 1,5 years old, I started a new position that required a lot of travelling, domestically and abroad. When my youngest was close to 2 years old, I took on a leadership role that I still hold today, seven years later.
My kids have two parents, and my husband does his share (if not more) in parenting them. Of course, we also live in a country that doesn’t aim to bankrupt you through childcare or healthcare.
