Hi all,
Long time lurker first time poster here.
Today is my 30th birthday. And to make a long story short, there is a lot going on in my life at the moment. In the very near future, my husband and I will be selling our current house and relocating to TN (where we're from). I will not have a job in TN and since we aren't 100% certain on what city we'll be living in yet, that's made looking for employment a bit difficult. I have always wanted to be a nurse since I was a little girl. I've worked as a CNA in the past and always felt needed and important in that role.
My question(?) of sorts is this: am I too old to start nursing school when I'm 30/31ish? My husband has always been a supporter of me sinking my teeth into a field/career that I enjoy and will provide for me and he is fully supportive of me doing this once we're more established in TN.
I guess I'm just questioning myself and the feeling that I'll be the oldest person in class and all the doubt that comes with that.
Thank you all for reading and any advice you give.
(If I've posted something wrong/in error, please let me know and I will edit/remove this post.)
!!Edit: Thank you all so much for your insight and kind words! I love that there's this little corner of the internet for encouragement and real world advice from fellow women. I appreciate every response and am feeling much more encouraged overall! :)
Oh please, of course you’re not! Go for it. You are only too old if you allow yourself to think of yourself as such.
I was a few years older than most of the students in my year, and I had a blast. And there were people older than me there too, more your age, and they did great. They didn’t party as hard as some of the younger ones, but they were a part of our group of friends as much as any other.
