Iām a firm believer that statements made during a fight - even if said out of anger - still have some truth to them. Iāve asked my husband for a divorce, and Iāve hired a lawyer but heās dragging his feet on hiring a lawyer on his side. Heās acting like Iām going to ruin our daughterās life by asking for a divorce, when itās pretty apparent he doesnāt want to be married to me either.
The other night he was coming down on me pretty hard and I couldnāt take it anymore. I told him that if he put half as much effort into our marriage as he did jerking off to random women on the internet (heās a porn addict that wonāt admit it), then we probably could have had a halfway decent marriage. In response, he said itās been impossible for him to have a marriage with someone who has no personality. I asked why he married me then, and he said āyou were 22 and hot, and I was 32 and found it exciting, then I just got comfortable.ā Iāve already felt this might be the truth, then he said it. He immediately retracted and said he didnāt mean it, and was just trying to hurt me.
Any chance people say things that are completely untrue during arguments? Or is there usually some truth to it.
I feel a lot of guilt over breaking up my family so it helps to know Iām not making a mistake.
