Iāve been a nail biter since puberty. And even in those small periods of time when Iām able to stop for awhile my nails are not very strong and they donāt get long. Just genetics (mom is the sameā¦short flimsy nails even though she doesnāt bite them)
I donāt love the look of it but it was recommended to me years ago to get acrylics so that I literally cannot bit my nails. I donāt love how think and unnatural they look but itās better than my natural chewed up look.
In the past I would get acrylics and take them off a few months later bc I was convinced I had āgotten overā biting my nails. Jokes on meā¦I chewed them up again within a couple weeks.
It occurred to me that in all my years of going back and forth between natural and acrylic that maybe there are better options. I just donāt know what to ask for.
Are there other options that are:
- more natural looking than acrylic
- durable so I literally cannot bite them
- Comparable in price or cheaper
- need professional tools to remove so I canāt just do it myself
