How would you respond if a guy whom you dated, but ultimately turned down, asked if you had any single friends that you thought might be a better match for him?

Assuming that you turned him down due to reasons of incompatibility or differing life circumstances, and that in general you liked him and thought he was a good guy. People who are friends often have a lot in common so it seems like a reasonable question to ask, but I can't tell if it's rude or not.
EDIT: Thanks for your input ladies! Decided that should this happen to me again in the future, I'm just going to ask and let the chips fall where they may :)
