How to smell good? Any tips?

I have a lot of perfumes from Scentbird and I’m trying to find the best one but this question not about the best perfume. I put a little bit of Vaseline into my skin and then apply a perfume but probably I don’t smell at all(I asked my friend and she said no). But I’m afraid to put to much and that people will be sick of my smell.

Plus about body lotion…scents can mix? Right? And I don’t want to mix everything so any tips?

probably the quality of the perfume.. buy a roller ball of something decent.. there's a fragrances subreddit.. Some of them are definitely more long lasting than others.
