Have you ever lost a friendship because you refused a romantic advance? What happened?

I was friends with a guy from community college who I'd always sort of got weird vibes from, I'd always turn down his requests to hang out at either of our actual houses because I just didn't trust him, even though he was a funny, charismatic nerdy guy into a lot of the same stuff as me. I had gone as far as to ask if he was interested in me at all because of the vibe I got from him, and he said no.

One day after I'd taken some time off to re-think my major, he messaged me on Snap and asked if I wanted to hang out. Honestly after so long I was just excited to get requests to hang out from anyone, so I said sure and we started working out plans.

Out of the blue, he tells me he's always thought I was cute. O-kay... A little weird for someone who confirmed that they didn't have feelings for me. Yeah. The next thing he sent me was 'Yeah. I'd fuck the shit out of you, tbh.'

I remember being stunned for a bit?? And then just telling him we weren't hanging out anymore. He got super offended, told me to 'learn how to take a joke'. Nothing else ever came of it, thank God, but I just don't get how people can lie about their feelings and then hit you with something like that.
