My two dogs (both German Shepherds) were playing and my older dog accidentally stepped on my puppys rear right leg. He cried out in pain for about 20 seconds and instantly started limping. I called ALL of the vets around me and no one can see him even for a quick visual inspection. Its been 3 and a half hours now and he still holds that leg up when he walks, but he's slowly started trying to use it. At first he wouldn't let it touch the ground, now he takes a couple of steps before holding it up. He ate his dinner and drank water fine and even went to the bathroom. When he's not moving he looks perfectly fine and happy. I checked the leg for anything abnormal, but it seems fine. No swelling, not warm to the touch, the bones feel fine and there wasn't any bleeding. He normally runs around a lot, but understandably he's not right now. Thoughts? I'm hoping it's just bruised or something, but I'm no expert. I'm keeping the dogs separated right now and am closely monitoring the little guy.
