I have a very old cat, not sure of his exact age, I rescued him in Florida after he'd been abandoned twice. He's quite temperamental. Anyway, about 2 days ago, he started acting very lethargic and not eating. He's been wretching a few times a day with not coming up. He did have a bowel movement a day and a half ago but it was not much. The stool was very hard but also surrounded by liquid. He strained very hard to get it out. He doesn't seem like he is in pain and purrs quite loudly when you pet him. We have been giving him droppers of water every half hour and he does drink a little bit from his dish. I'm worried that he may have a bowel obstruction or a stuck hairball? The worst part is that I am self employed and this is my slow time of year and I'm barely able to pay my bills, so I have no money for a veterinarian visit. He doesn't seem to be getting worse but he's not getting any better either. I feel so stuck because I don't want him to suffer anymore than he has too, butbi also don't want to put him down if he may get through this? If there's anyone that could give me some advice or guidance I would really appreciate it? We are definitely animal lovers in my family, we have 1 husky, a weiner dog mix, and another runt kitty that looks like a kitten but is 2 yrs old. I tried to apply for care credit but I literally have no credit, like credit karma won't even give me a score, it says N/A. I've lived by what I could afford and never used credit cards and it's apparently hurting me to never have had any debt. Thi is a weird world to me? Sorry for rambling I'm just at my wits end and it's killing me to not be able to help my kitty.
