Update: it’s just a general abscess. Prescribed Orbax (must finish bottle of course). Gave him his first dose right after we got home and he took it without issue and seems to be feeling a bit better already.

I took our cat to the vet last week for lameness/tenderness and at the time neither I nor his vet saw anything on his paw or in X-rays (we went home with some pain meds and joint supplements). Of course he’s going back first thing tomorrow morning, but any ideas on what this could possibly be? He’s an indoor only cat, there’s nothing he could have stepped on, and there’s no bugs/spiders in the house. Any ideas or things I should ask the vet tomorrow would be appreciated.
He’s a 4.5 year old orange tabby cat.
