Indoor cat suddenly lethargic and not eating much
Post Body

Our cat, Ripley, is about 5 years old. She showed up on our property as a stray at maybe 6 months old, Be took her in and she’s been an indoor cat ever since. She’s one of the chattiest cats, meowing at you incessantly from the time you walk through the door until you finally get that bowl of food in front of her. Tuesday night, she didn’t do that. She gave A meow, but otherwise went to her food bowl when I put it down and then proceeded to only eat about half of it. She’s been less active since then, and she’s had a little cough off and on over the past couple weeks. We took her to the vet yesterday and she said she looked ok and everything sounded fine, but we opted for x-rays and bloodwork anyways. The x-ray showed a little something in her lungs (I wasn’t there for this part, my wife was) and the bloodwork apparently came back inconclusive as to what might be the cause. Now she’s hanging out by herself (always loved to lay in our lap) and she’s barely touching her food. We’re treating her for lungworms and they gave her an antibiotic, but since yesterday’s visit she seems even more off. Apparently the vet mentioned blastomycosis as something they could look into, as well as an ultrasound. Just looking for another opinion on the matter — don’t want to doubt the vet but she’s new to the clinic we visit and she is younger so reaching out for second opinions. Thanks in advance.
