Cat has a raspy meow

So my 1.5 year old coated Sphinx recently developed a raspy meow. He seems fine, just that his meow is raspy much like a human loosing their voice. What’s more curious is his meow became raspy after I came home camping with a cold. Is it possible for him to catch a cold from me?
