Post Body

Species: feline

Age: approximately 14y ears

Sex/Neuter status: Female neutered

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Body weight: roughly 7-10lbs

History: Around 2-3 weeks back I noticed a bulge on my cat and figured it was just a cyst that would go away. Fast forward to yesterday and I noticed a huge hole and oozing puss from the site. So this morning I took her to the vet to get treated thinking it was an abscess. The vet rolls the cat over looks at the site and the other mass and says they're malignant tumors. No tests other than a visual inspection and also the fact that she's an indoor cat and only has interactions with my dog. Unfortunately, the cost between, treatment for abscess and tumor removal are almost double. I asked if there was anything else I can do or would it be pretty much to put her down if I cannot afford the costs.

I do want to get a second opinion as the consult was very brief and I had to keep on hounding the Vet or the tech for answers.

Am I correct in assuming. If I do have the two tumors removed, I assume there is a possibility of it occurring again.?Also since there has been no testing that they're maybe already more existing tumors?

Thank you in advance.
