Dog Mystery Respiratory Illness

My 5 year old Golden Shepherd went from 100% to be lethargic and barely moving over a day and a half.
She has pneumonia, 2 spots on her X-rays that they say are masses and expect to be lung cancer.
Her panel came back negative, she has been given antibiotics which I haven’t seen improvement, and is now on prednisone as she was starting to pant and be in respiratory distress it seemed otherwise her rrr was 14-18
Would lung cancer hit her like this? I feel like something else is up
